Fresh and Fruity, in collaboration with JPEG2000, Friends Are Artists, Sleepover Club & Ōtautahi Kōrerotia present:

‘Till The World Ends’

A series of exhibitions, film screenings & events taking place over 2017 across multiple cities in Aotearoa, Australia & Germany.

i wish the earth would j swallow me. Keep on dancing till the world ends. Dreams of the volcanoes in Tamaki Makaurau violently convulsing. Clasping hands together under a table. Our breath moving in sync. Stripping back the flesh to reveal the whiteness of our bones. Grinding bones into dust. Bone marrow and blood absorbed by the plants. Plants in water asymmetrically climbing and twisting towards the light.

Six artists respond to ‘till the world ends’, a text written by Hana Pera Aoake in 2016, which was written after the election of Donald Trump, declaration of the death of the Great Barrier Reef and during the aftershocks in Wellington following earthquakes in Kaikoura. This exhibition is the first iteration of a broad project spanning across Aotearoa and to Australia and Germany.

Did you know that the world is ending?

This project will follow the same six core artists, each respectively based in Tamaki Makaurau, Te Whanganui-a-tara and Narrm, as they respond to the concerns in this text in new locations. As a connective tool the artists have been engaging in a google doc conversation to discuss their practice, thoughts and feelings.

Please join us at the cottage on Saturday at 5:30pm for refreshments and to celebrate their mahi

Open Wednesday nights 5-8pm til July 26th
